Africa is poised for a digital transformation, with vast economic opportunities and a youthful population ready to drive innovative and inclusive growth. This digitalization is key to job creation, poverty reduction, and achieving Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals. Africa’s rapid adoption of digital solutions offers a unique leapfrogging opportunity, transforming traditional socio-economic sectors at an unprecedented speed. In light of this vision, the AI Competition invites you to design a pavilion for the African Union Headquarters that symbolizes Africa’s journey towards a digitally transformed continent by 2030. This competition is exclusively open to FDC Midjourney Trainees, providing a unique platform to showcase your creativity, innovation, and design skills while contributing to a significant and meaningful project.

Create A Pavilion That Stems From The Site Analysis
2. Participants should use the designated site to create a pavilion resulting from the analysis of the African Union Site Layout and determine the mode of construction that would be appropriate for this project.

ELIGIBILITY
The competition is open to architects and designers who have successfully completed the Midjourney Training organized by the Future Design Collaborative.

JUDGING CRITERIA
- Design Innovation: Uniqueness and creativity in interpreting the objective of the competition
- Sustainability: Integration of sustainable practices and environmental consciousness.
- Contextual Sensitivity: How well the design harmonizes with the existing African Union Building.
- Community Impact: Potential positive impact on the local community and its development.
SUSTAINABILITY
- Environmentally Conscious Design: Integrate sustainable design practices, utilizing renewable energy sources and minimizing environmental impact.
- Local Materials: Encourage the use of locally sourced materials, promoting sustainability and supporting the local economy.
- Ecological Integration: Design with respect to the natural landscape, preserving and enhancing the ecological balance.
- Sustainability Features: Provide a detailed explanation of the sustainable features integrated into the design.
DELIVERABLES
- Design Statement to explain the overall Proposal with Proposal Title (500 Word max.,12pt Font, PDF Format)
- Photomontages, Perspectives, and/or other Inspiration Images that can Demonstrate the Ideas and Design Concepts
- AI Visualizations (4 Views)
